HAMILTON – It took Hamilton no time to punch in their ticket to the third round of the Class 2A playoffs, as the Lions needed just two innings combined to run-rule Northside during Thursday’s doubleheader.

“We’re feeling good, and I was happy with the ABs (at-bats) because we’ve had a little trouble getting our timing down with the front foot,” Hamilton coach Dallas Flippo said. “We’ve got a two-headed monster with J.D. (Whitaker) and Braedyn (Lackie). We lean on them, and as long as we’re hitting and making plays behind them, we’re going to be competitive.”
