Members of Whitetails Unlimited are joined with veterans and Pier Pressure Charters owner David Burlison after a deep sea fishing expedition. The nonprofit group is hosting its annual banquet Feb. 21, which provides funds for hunting and fishing outings for veterans and children.

AMORY – Whitetails Unlimited will host its annual banquet Feb. 21, and proceeds help in local efforts to support veterans and children in need with outdoor experiences. The group partners with the nonprofit D.T.D Outdoors, and 100 percent of funds supports hunting and fishing excursions.

“One of our main goals when we started this in 2018 was to not only get the kids outdoors because they’re the future of the sport but also our veterans and to get them back out to something normal. We don’t discuss a lot of this and that with our veterans, it’s just a chance to be able to get them outside to experience God’s great outdoors and have a great time with us, whether they harvest anything or not,” said Chad Hill, who is over Whitetails Unlimited’s Monroe County chapter.
