Volunteers pack bags through the Kiwanis Club-sponsored Baxter's Bags feeding program. The outreach surpassed more than 10,000 bags delivered on the birthday of one of its pioneers - the late Judy Baxter.

AMORY – In 2024, the Kiwanis Club rebranded its backpack feeding program to honor one of its longtime members – the late Judy Baxter, who lost her life in 2021. What would have been her birthday – April 29 – marked a milestone for the Baxter’s Bags outreach as Kiwanis surpassed 10,000 bags provided to students.

“The program started with a $450 per year budget, and we did good when we provided 40 bags. The budget is up to $15,000 per year now,” said Kiwanis Club member Mark Lantrip.
