Sunny side up

As the sun sets on this very special Easter Sunday my mind is reliving the events of this day. Our family gathered to celebrate the day that illuminates this holiday that is the Foundation for our Christian faith. We had a late lunch (or early supper) so everyone could go to their morning church service before coming to the hinterlands to enjoy the fellowship of family.

We were to all be ready to gather around our Easter table at 2 p.m. Everyone made it by then except Anna and Dyllan. They were 15 minutes later, but they had to travel farther than anyone else. So, at “almost” 2 o’clock we gathered. I had to smile when I remembered that my cousin Sarah would have called this middle of the evening meal “lupper.” Sarah and I spent many wonderful, blessed, fun-filled holidays together. This is her fifth Easter in Heaven. All holidays spent with her were filled with laughter and pranks. That makes good memories to go along with the real meaning of special days.
