Monroe County’s municipalities mostly witnessed decreases in sales tax diversions through a previous report from the Mississippi Department of Revenue. Smithville and Hatley, however, witnessed increases compared to previous reporting periods in one way or another.

Smithville’s total of $9,669 was an increase from $8,189 from the same time last year and $8,020 from the previous month. While Hatley’s total of $4,215 was an increase from $3,667 from the previous month, it reflected a decrease from $4,425 last year.
