RIPLEY – Three days after her father was convicted of first-degree murder for the 2022 death of her boyfriend, Caitlin Spence was sentenced in Tippah County Circuit Court for accessory after the fact but left the courtroom a free woman.
In April 2025, Spence admitted in court that she knew her father had killed Tippah County entrepreneur Kirby Carpenter but did not immediately come forward. As part of the plea agreement, sentencing was deferred until after she testified at her father’s trial.
