Sunny side up

Today I am waiting, wondering and watching. I’m waiting to see if the winter weather that is forecasted will become a reality, wondering if we will be without power if it does come, and watching weather forecasts that all predict, “This is a big one – GET READY!” Watching a few snowflakes fall is great fun, but hearing ice pellets hit windows and the roof is a different story.

An ice storm means no electricity for as little as a few hours or, for us here in the hinterlands, for as long as several days. No electricity means our central heating system won’t come on and even though I have three wall heaters to use in case that happens, those little heaters won’t keep water pipes underneath the house warm. I am trying not to cross those bridges until I get to them. If I spend time worrying about what “might” happen then I’ve wasted precious time when I could be doing something positive. Worry is not a good option no matter what is going on, but it is a hard enemy to conquer.
