In-Curiosity was a six-story structure that served as the home of the late Stephen Sykes of Wren. It was featured decades ago in an issue of EBONY magazine.

WREN – If you were driving through Wren in the 1950s, chances are you saw an amazing structure on the side of Highway 45. Folks say more than one driver nearly ran off the road the first time they saw it. Some slowed down, some stopped, many turned around and came back for a better look. A tall, crooked thing rose out of the fields in Wren like it had no business being there.

This sight was known as the In-Curiosity. Long before the interstate was built, travelers drove straight through the heart of Monroe County. Along that road was a structure so strange and startling that it became a regular stopping place for people headed from Chicago to Florida or from Memphis to the Gulf Coast.
