Ja'Mya Sykes

PHS' Ja'Mya Sykes (center) set a personal record of 49.25 secs to capture the girls' 300m hurdles Class 5A state title.

PEARL- The Pontotoc High School track team completed another successful season as 13 athletes competed in the Class 5A state meet on Saturday, May 2nd, with Ja'Mya Sykes capturing the girls' 300m hurdle state title.

In the 4x800m relay, Aubrey Payne, Yanisleth Morales, Zoely Romano, and Ally Moore placed fourth. Moore also competed in the 1600m (4th) and 3200m relays, receiving bronze in the 3200m relay. Milaysiah Lawrence received a bronze medal in the girls' triple jump with a personal record of 34-05.5. Aubrey Robbins received a silver medal in the girls' pole vault competition. Callie Anne Patrick placed fourth in pole vault. Romano placed sixth in the 800m relay. Markarri Rucker placed fifth in the discus competition.
