NEW HOPE- The Pontotoc Lady Warriors held off a furious rally from New Hope to prevail 13-12 last Thursday in game one of their playoff series. PHS ultimately advanced to the 5A North Half finals with a sweep of the Lady Trojans.

Pontotoc got off a fast start at the top of the first inning. Star Williams walked, and McKenzie McDonald was hit by a pitch before Katlyn Mayes belted a 3-run homer. Later in the inning, Charli Hall smacked a 2-run double down the left field line to put the Lady Warriors ahead 5-0.
