At the Thursday, April 30 meeting the Pontotoc American Legion Post 16 honored a recently deceased veteran for his service more than 65 years ago.
American Legion Post Commander Derek Holland said he was fond of Mr. Ray Butler because he allowed his son Carey and all his friends to come to their place and “enjoy our war games all over their hill. Ms. Joyce didn’t know if she was going to have a floor full of boys when we decided to show back up after several days of being out in the bush so to speak,” Holland remembered.
